Yes.  All applications must be received before 11:59 PM on March 31 to be included in the April 1 lottery.  All other applications received after the deadline will be added to the waiting List.

Students' selection is on a first-come, first-served basis through the lottery.  When Applications exceed capacity, students are placed on a waiting list, and a lottery is held to select applicants randomly.

7.    What is the Lottery?

The lottery is a computerized, random selection process that offers seats to applicants for the upcoming School year.  Priority is given to siblings of students already enrolled, students residing in the Roosevelt District, and siblings applying.  This process aims to ensure fairness and support family stability and community bonds, helping reassure parents about their child's future at RCA.

8.    When is the lottery?

The Roosevelt Children’s Academy Charter School lottery is held on April 1st of every year for placement for the upcoming School year.  Families can still apply after the deadline if seats are available, or they can be placed on the waiting list.

No.  Students who have already enrolled at RCA automatically keep their seats for the next School year if Parents fill out the Intent to Return form via the Parent Portal by 5/15 of the fiscal Year.

If you participated in the live Lottery, you will be informed immediately, as you are part of the selection process.  Other families will receive notification via email and/or text stating whether the child:
•    Received an offer, or
•    Was placed on the waitlist

Instructions for accepting an offer, providing documentation, and completing registration will be included.

If a seat becomes available, families on the waitlist are offered seats in the order drawn during the lottery.  Waitlists remain active for the entire School year.
